The CSDS's Useful Resources Inventory

Dear friends and colleagues!

I am happy to present another Useful Resources Inventory to be used for both research and educational purposes.

This Inventory contains a collection of useful links to external resources on developments and international development cooperation in the Middle East and North Africa including:

- sections of leading donor countries 'development agencies' and 'multilateral institutions’ websites, devoted to Middle East and North Africa ('Agencies');

- full-text versions of regional and country development cooperation strategies for aid recipients in the Middle East and North Africa by selected donor countries and multilateral organizations (‘Strategies’).

- materials on selected governance and security assistance programs in Arab countries etc. (‘Programs’)

- official webpages of specialized research units and programs of leading Russian and foreign analytical and educational centers (‘Centers’).

I regard this Inventory as being useful not only for experts in international development cooperation or Arab studies, but also by lecturers in teaching relevant courses as well as by students of various fields working on their theses.

The Inventory has been created as a part of the research project 'Dilemmas of Strengthening State Resilience in the Middle East and North Africa in the Context of New Threats to Peace, Security, Global and Regional Stability', which has been implemented under the aegis of the CSDS in 2017-2020 by a group of young scholars from leading educational (MSU, MGIMO, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia) and research institutions (Institute of Oriental Studies and Institute of African Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences).

I also want to extend my sincere gratitude to Anastasia VikulovaAlexey Solomatin and Luiza Khlebnikova for their help in instrumentalization of the idea.

As in the case with the Document Inventory on the Security-Development Nexus, which was created several years ago as a part of a relevant project supported by the Russian Science Foundation (project #15-18-30066, Principal Investigator – Andrei A. Kokoshin, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences), the CSDS team is planning to update this new Inventory after the submission of the final report to the RFBR.

Therefore, we will be happy to get your feedback on the Inventory and proposals on additions (csds@fmp.msu.ru)
