September 10, 2019, the CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev made a presentation ''The US Disengagement from the MENA Region: Myths and Reality'' at the international seminar ''From Battlefields to Negotiation Tables: What Role for International Actors in the MENA Crises?" organized by Russian International Affairs Council, Italian Institute for International Political Studies and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as one of the 'Toward MED -Regional Meetings' ahead of the 5th Edition of the Mediterranean Dialogues which will be held in Rome on December 5-7, 2019. The aim of the seminar was the exchange of views and ideas between experts on the role and influence of regional and international actors in major crises affecting the Middle East and North Africa.

On April 12, 2019 a large delegation from the Center for Security and Development Studies of the School of World Politics (Vladimir Bartenev, Luiza Khlebnikova, Olga Kulkova, Lida Oganisyan, and Oxana Popova) attended International Academic Conference of Young Scholars "The Changing West and its Role in Global Regulation", one of the largest annual conferences of young IR scholars in Russia. The event was organized by a consortium of Young Scholars Councils of three institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences - the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO), the Institute for the US and Canadian Studies and the Institute of Europe.
