The CSDS and the RIAC held an online round table discussion on Foreign Aid in the MENA

On January 26, 2021, the CSDS and Russian International Affairs Council held an online discussion on the topic "Foreign Aid in the Middle East and North Africa: Risks and Opportunities". The discussion was timed with the publication of a new RIAC report “International Assistance to the Middle East and CSDS North Africa: Managing Risks”, prepared by the CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev. This event opened a series of scientific events of various format celebrating the 10th anniversary of the CSDS (2011-2021).
The presentation was followed by an expert discussion on a wide range of development and security issues in the most turbulent region of the world and the role of international assistance in their solution.

Zvyagelskaya I.D. - Head of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies IMEMO RAS, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies at MGIMO, member of the RIAC;
Kuznetsov V.A. - Head of the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the RIAC;
Sukhov N.V. - the RIAC expert;
Aliyeva A.I. - the CSDS expert;
Oganisyan L.D. - Lecturer at the Department of International Organizations and World Political Processes, School of World Politics, Lomonosov Moscow State University; the CSDS expert;
Khlebnikova L.R. - Associate Professor of the Department of Jewish Studies at the Institute of Asian and African Countries, Lomonosov Moscow State University; the CSDS Deputy Director for international and public affairs; the RIAC expert.
The first session was moderated by the RIAC program manager Ruslan Mamedov, the second - by Vladimir Bartenev.
