The CSDS held a workshop panel “Fragile states” in a Contemporary Architecture of the International Development Assistance”. The CSDS experts presented their achievements of the current year in the course of realization of the project “Evolution of Leading International Actors' Approaches to Security-Development Nexus in the Context of Transformation of Global System: Analysis and Prognosis” supported with a grant from the Russian Scientific Foundation (project №15-18-30066).

On December 14-15, 2017 the international research consortium led by the Lomonosov Moscow State University (School of World Politics - Center for Security and Development Studies), University of California (Irvine) and Institute for Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, held an international academic conference' Empowering Sustainability in a Fragile World' in partnership with the Russian International Affairs Council and with financial support from the Russian Science Foundation (project №15-18-30066).

On April 27, 2016 the Center for Security and Development Studies (CSDS) held a round table discussion ''Counterterrorism in Sub-Saharan Africa: Seeking a Holistic Approach'' under the aegis of Section of International Relations of a traditional academic conference ‘Lomonosov-2016’. The debate involved experts from the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Russian Academy of Science (IMEMO RAS), Institute of African Studies, Russian Academy of Science (IA RAS), and the CSDS.

The CSDS held a round table discussion 'The Security-Development Nexus: problems of conceptualization' on December 2015.The CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev made a speech 'Interdependance of Security and Development: imperatives of contextualization'. The CSDS Special Assistant to the Director Elena Glazunova presented a paper 'Conception of the Security-Development in international development studies' Also the CSDS Research Fellow Nikolay Yudin made a presentation 'Conception of the Security-Development Nexus in international security studies'.

The CSDS Research Fellow Olga Kulkova made a presentation 'The EU and Migration Crisis 2015: seeking solutions in the context of the Security-Development Nexus'

The Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations (RAS) held a confrence 'Integrational and Disintegrational process in World Economics and Politics'. Olga Kulkova made a presentation "New aspects of the EU's political and theoretical discourse on the "security - development" nexus in the EU-Africa relations (2010-2015)" at international conference'.

The IX RISA Convention took place on 27-28 October. Its subject is ‘Multilateral Institutions: Global Efficiency vs. National Interests’. The CSDS Director Vladimir I. Bartenev made a presentation The Security-Development Nexus and the UN to 2030: Back to Basics?.

MGIMO held a round table debate on the topic ‘Features of Turkey investment climate’s formation’. The CSDS Research Fellow Altunay I. Aliyeva made a presentation ‘Investment as a tool of strengthening the U.S.-Turkey ‘model partnership’ (2009-2015)' 

The Institute for African Studies (RAS) held a conference on 'Terrorism and Violence in the East and Africa. Gender aspects'. The CSDS Research Fellow Olga Kulkova made a presentation 'EU efforts aimed at protection of African women' rights and their empowerment in the situations of conflict and post-conflict reconstruction (2000s.)'.

The 6th Xiangshan Forum held at the National Convention Center in Beijing from the 16-18 of October, 2015. The theme was “Security Cooperation in the Asia-Pacific: Realities and Visions” and its topics for discussion at the plenary sessions are “Asia-Pacific Security Trends: Opportunities and Challenges”, “Asia-Pacific Security Concepts: Innovation and Practice”, “Asia-Pacific Maritime Security—Risks and Management”, and “Regional Terrorism—Root Causes and Counter Measures”. An. A. Kokoshin made a presentation about security and development issues in Korea.
