The CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev participated in the International Expert Forum ‘Russia - the Middle East’

The CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev attended the International Expert Forum ‘Russia - the Middle East' which was held in Kazan on August 1-4, 2019.

 

Vladimir Bartenev made a presentation on key myths reproduced in the political and expert discourse on reconstruction of Syria in which he shared some results of examining this problematique within the framework of the research project ‘Dilemmas of Strengthening State Resilience in the Middle East and North Africa in the Context of New Threats to Peace, Security, Global and Regional Stability' (project #17-37-01018-OGN, supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research).

The Forum was organized by the Evgeniy Primakov Center for International Cooperation (@primakovcenter ) together with Russian International Affairs Council, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund in conjunction with the 90th anniversary from the date of birth of the outstanding Russian statesman and diplomat Evgeniy Primakov.

The forum was attended by the leading experts – representative of academic and research institutions of Russia, Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine etc.
