On November 3, 2020 the CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev made a presentation entitled "Aiding Yemen: a risk-based view from Russia" at online workshop “Russia and Yemen: Security in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea” that was organized by Russian International Affairs Council and the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Russia. Ahmed Salem al-Wahishi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Yemen to the Russian Federation made an opening presentation on the key milestones of the Russian-Yemeni relations.
Vasily Kuznetsov, Head of the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Sergey Serebrov, Senior Research Fellow, Center for Arab and Islamic Studies, Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, also shared their insights on the subjects. The event was moderated by Ruslan Mamedov, RIAC Program Manager.
