Februarey 19, the CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev participated at the Valdai Discussion Club Middle East Conference titled "Middle East: New stage, old problems?". The event was organized by the Valdai Discussion Club in partnership with the Institute of Oriental Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences.
Vladimir Bartenev was a speaker at the session ''The reconstruction of Syria: constitutional arrangement, political structure, return of refugees''. For the panel, he wrote a piece ''Syria’s Recovery: How To Overcome Mutually Assured Obstruction?'' that is available at the Valdai club site.
