On December 15, 2021, the CSDS and the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC), with the support of the International Development Assistance Commission of the Public Council under Rossotrudnichestvo, held a webinar "International assistance and sanctions pressure: vectors of mutual influence".
On December 1, 2021, The CSDS hold a workshop discussion "International Development Assistance Agencies Facing New Challenges: Models of Resource, Risk and Performance Management". The event was held online in the framework of the section "International Security and World Political Processes" of the international conference "Forum of World Politics: World Politics in the Conditions of Instability. Dilemmas of a New World Order ”with the support of the International Development Assistance Commission (IDAC) of the Public Council under Rossotrudnichestvo in partnership with the Association of Experts in International Development Assistance (AE IDA).
On October 28, 2021, the CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev took part in the online meeting ‘Days of the Public Council under Rossotrudnichestvo’.
On August 27, 2021, Vladimir Bartenev made a presentation "Russia’s Role in Achieving the SDGs in the Post-Covid-19 Context: Development Cooperation Profile" at the VIII North-East Asia Development Cooperation Forum organized under the auspices of the United Nations ESCAP (integrated within a joint keynote report prepared in collaboration with Andrey Sakharov – from the RANEPA).
The 2021 Development Studies Association Annual Conference took place from June 28 to July 2nd. There was a strong participation from many renowned development studies researchers and specialists from donor countries and international organizations. During one of the panels, the CSDS expert Zorikto Gomboin presented a paper on Chinese foreign aid to the ICT sector. The paper covered his analysis of available quantitative data on Chinese ICT foreign aid, and an attempt to answer to a question what kind of digital development donor China is. The presentation of the paper was a success and attracted many questions from the audience.
On July 8, 2021 the CSDS Director Vladimir Bartenev participated in the expert workshop ‘Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in the Russian Federation’s National Projects and Anti-Crisis Measures in the Context of the Post-Pandemic Economic Recovery’ organized by the Center for International Institutions Research of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) in partnership with the Russian Association of the International Development Assistance Experts (RAIDAE).
In May 2021, the CSDS experts took part in the XV International African Studies Conference “Destinies of Africa in the Modern World”, the largest event for African studies in Russia. It was held in an online-offline format. The conference began its work on the eve of the 25 May Africa Day.
