Using the method of historical reconstruction the author fi nd out the reasons for the destructive policy of France with regard to Guinea in the late 1950’s — early 1970-ies. Th e article focuses on clarifying the role of the French secret diplomacy and the French special services, which, since 1958, have made every eff ort to destroy the foundations of the sovereignty of the Republic of Guinea, who did not want to join the French Commonwealth and declared full sovereignty. Th e article also deals with socio-political and economic factors that allow small and very poor African states to cope with the French neo-colonialism. Th e author analyses the role of the Soviet Union and other socialist countries in providing real sovereignty to Guinea through the rebuilding its economy and fi nancial system. Th e author concludes that due to the international situation prevailing in the world aft er the Second World War, the «Fransafrik» network failed to destroy the state security services in Portuguese Guinea as well as to kill the leader of the Guinean the role of the Guinean precedent in the collapse of the French colonial empire.
